Thank you to Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC) for choosing Nosipho Ngqula as one of this year’s Top 30 under 30 and recognizing her work and commitment to the Music Academy at Keiskamma Trust.

Nosipho, along with Thabang (Keiskamma Trust director) and his wife Unathi will be presenting this year at the University of Alberta’s International Week on January 29 at 2 p.m., Edmonton Clinic Health Academy, 11405 87 Ave NW, Room L1-430. This session offers a window into the challenges and benefits of building human bridges across continents. Besides hearing from our panelists, we will view a short documentary based on the students’ journey. Join us to hear what strengths partnership brings.

Our guests will also be in attendance at the opening of INDALO: Nature tapestries of South Africa’s Eastern Cape.  Inspired by the wonder, beauty and fragility of their natural environment, the women of the tiny village of Bodiam have created intricate tapestries that set birds in beautifully lush surroundings. The women have entitled this work “Indalo,” the Xhosa word for “nature.” Although life in the Eastern Cape remains challenging, hope and pride are clearly captured in Indalo, whose unique style speaks clearly of homeland and creativity. Saturday, February 13, 2-4 p.m., McMullen Gallery, University of Alberta Hospital, 8440 112 Street NW
