The Marilyn Scott Student Support Fund
Give the Gift of Education
Marilyn Scott served as a dedicated board member for the Keiskamma Canada Foundation. During the years working with the board, she tirelessly volunteered her time to the successful sales of hand crafted Keiskamma Trust products here in Edmonton and beyond and continues to do so! Her skills were not limited to working within the Edmonton community. Marilyn and her husband Neil made several trips to the Keiskamma Trust in the Eastern Cape of South Africa where Marilyn shared her skills and expertise in education. From robust singing of the children’s song Skidamarink to having students write essays and produce plays, to teacher workshops, Marilyn’s passion for education is still reflected in many lives in South Africa.
As a tribute to Marilyn’s many years of volunteering, Keiskamma Canada Foundation has set up the Marilyn Scott Student Support Fund (MSSSF). Funds generated for the MSSSF will be sent out annually to support a worthy post- secondary student from Hamburg or other area villages involved with Keiskamma Trust.
The student selected to receive the funds will be nominated by the Keiskamma Trust (the local NGO). This student will demonstrate both exceptional need and potential. Funds will go toward school tuition costs and boarding if needed.
