Our Goal: Raise $20,000

Since its inception in 2010, Keiskamma Canada has been partnering with the Keiskamma Trust in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The Trust was set up in 2000 as a non-profit to counter the devastation caused by HIV/AIDS. Based in Hamburg, the Trust serves multiple villages and an estimated population of 200,000 South Africans.

This community is remarkably resilient. They’re survivors- dealing with the devastation of poverty, HIV/AIDS, high rates of tuberculosis, and high unemployment, they now face COVID-19.

The donors of Keiskamma Canada have made a huge difference in their support of the Trust’s Art Project, Music Academy, and Education and Health Programs.

Because of COVID-19, Keiskamma Canada has been unable to hold any fundraising events, including product sales, our annual gala, live auction, or access government funding via Alberta’s Community Initiatives Program.

Ongoing support for what the Keiskamma Trust has achieved is vital given the current realities of the pandemic in the Eastern Cape.

THERE ARE THREE WAYS you can help this very special South African Community stay on its feet and continue to move forward:

We’d love to increase our monthly donors! You can sign up at any time for a one-time or monthly donation directly below through Canada Helps.

If you’re tight on funds, as many of us are due to COVID, we’d really appreciate plenty of $5 and $10 donations.

All donations over $10 received during October and November will be included in a draw for a beautiful hand-embroidered bag created by the Keiskamma Trust’s Art Project.

If preferred, donations by cheque may be made out and mailed to the Keiskamma Canada Foundation:
